Paperwork

looking for past-times well try crafting your own
mine fields try sleeping in the turbine or the flywheel,
serpentine tail biter lighter than the steel in the
nib of your pen, as it fills a formula // reeling out your
details, cleaner than your locker when your dream sails
but that strip of paint you applied is Möbius shade
so the hailstone-and-thunderings will start to look the same
and a search for Godot and his loyal sun would be in vain//
there's always a train to catch or a flame to splash
water over leather reclining sofas, couple soma's
there's only prime number clovers in the field
and even then there's only 2 options to choose from or go bust
there's fewer for your poison, adhere or get busted
this is jury channel, no need to adjust it, oh and the panel will
need a good dusting, get your sustenance from strangers //
dancing round a street-light, just waiting for danger, waiting
ten second between shocks, waiting ten years at a
bus stop hurts when trains are passing like clockwork ///
circle classified, plan colour schemes,
too busy hiding from monsters to follow any other dreams
34th repeat nightmare, estate premium,
prices rising like the coins are full of helium ////
sealed and signed? the deal is done
we've been here behind the scenes from day one
we've seen your dreams and in the end we recommend none
when no stalk grows you might wonder where your beans have gone
they say there's a war to be won, well there's a trench full of
sons, elsewhere there a man stood reciting puns
there's a blue corner, but reds too far away to see
show them the ropes and they'll surely find the end eventually
a dog without a backbone, a collar names it pedigree
if you hear a flat tone you can pay me to sing an elegy

I’ve got no fire escape
but I can see a plate
weighted with safety and a
belly that matches
I can see red tape
paperwork and dead-space
a room full of people trying to
work out what the catch is
I’ve got no fire escape
but I can see a plate
weighted with safety and a
belly that matches
I can see red tape
around a death place
a room full of people trying to
work out what the catch is

a fresh tank of think, blank space
shrinking as the ink spreads through cities and pretty heads
sticking to the riverbed with heavy soles still fresh from the
parapet there's no way you'll collect the entire set
marionettes, all the strings and joints are kinda
pointless if there's no-one pulling over your head, we'll get
over it yet, I guess we'll have to live our own lives
colliding wine windows are crashing on the toe-line
over in no time, so kind to offer but I’ll be
following the fractal pattern that is my own line
battling through mazes they no longer phase me now the
end of every day is kinda hazy, double
paisley kinda crazy, yet we're still looking for the
combination that will solve itself so mark it with an
asterisk and since the druids bought all the high streets,
you'll find it under a pile of leaves wrapped in a flysheet
dial a thief, give him all your beef and broccoli, it's
full of science serum giving grief to your crockery
really what could be better than a blanket fix comfort in your
convent reminiscing about all your missing content
a well spent youth, dedicated on saving for the
future, they'll always tell you it's worth waiting I hope it
suits you, one size fits the foot in the door keep
shovelling more through graduation, occupation
sage in all fields, stainless steel or a letter of
resignation, or the first thing you can steal
like a pale of water fill it til its bursting at the seal
but keep a receipt for the sake of your next refill appeal

I’ve got no fire escape
but I can see a plate
weighted with safety and a
belly that matches
I can see red tape
paperwork and dead-space
a room full of people trying to
work out what the catch is
I’ve got no fire escape
but I can see a plate
weighted with safety and a
belly that matches
I can see red tape
around a death place
a room full of people trying to
work out what the catch is
